About The Position

The Chas. E. Phipps Company has been supplying contractors with high-quality, innovative products and equipment, technical expertise, and trusted service since 1921. Phipps distributes concrete accessories, concrete repair materials, sealants, and coatings to contractors for industrial and commercial buildings, infrastructure, concrete wearing surfaces, and the building envelope. The company is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join their team at their Cleveland location. This role involves engaging with customers in person and over the phone, providing technical selling and problem-solving by offering solutions through a diverse line of products and equipment. A continued education process will help maintain a high level of product and equipment knowledge to provide customers with reliable information on specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to utilize ERP software (Epicor Prophet 21) – Training provided.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to listen and ask questions to solve customer product questions.
  • Relates well to others inside and outside of the organization; builds appropriate rapport; develops constructive and effective relationships.
  • Good interpersonal communication both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior inside sales or counter sales experience in a construction supply setting
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Bring value to customers to help them be successful; must enjoy working with people and have a desire to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Understand the products we sell and make recommendations to contractors based on application and jobsite conditions.
  • Leverage products and equipment to find creative solutions to assist contractors with their projects.
  • Partner closely with Outside Sales Representatives to support customer relationships, quotes, follow-ups, and project coordination.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple customer requests, orders, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Keeping up to date on industry trends through networking, research, and constantly look for ways to improve.
