About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Inside Sales Representative with manufacturing experience to support customer growth, manage key accounts, and serve as the primary point of contact between customers and internal operations teams. The ideal candidate understands manufacturing processes, production schedules, and supply chain dynamics, and can effectively communicate product capabilities, lead times, and solutions to customers. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction while identifying opportunities to grow revenue within existing and prospective accounts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of inside sales, customer service, account management, or sales support experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production schedules, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Epicor, Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication, customer relationship, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers through proactive communication and account support.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and new business development within assigned accounts.
  • Generate and follow up on quotations, pricing requests, and sales proposals.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and consistently achieve revenue and margin goals.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and lead times.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of customer applications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Process customer orders and ensure accuracy of pricing, delivery schedules, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, and Shipping teams to provide order status updates and resolve customer concerns.
  • Monitor open orders and proactively communicate potential delays or supply chain issues.
  • Maintain customer records and sales activities within CRM and ERP systems.
  • Interpret customer requirements and communicate specifications to internal teams.
  • Understand manufacturing processes, production capabilities, and material requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to identify solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Assist customers with product selection, application questions, and technical inquiries.
  • Support new product introductions and customer projects from quote through delivery.
  • Prospect and qualify new business opportunities through phone, email, and online outreach.
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers in manufacturing, industrial, OEM, and distribution environments.
  • Conduct customer follow-ups to increase quote-to-order conversion rates.
  • Analyze customer purchasing trends and identify opportunities for account growth.
