About The Position

The Inside Sales Rep helps implement the branch’s business plan by meeting the needs of a diverse customer base. The role supports branch operations through equipment rentals, customer relations, telemarketing, and collections, with a primary focus on proactively increasing branch revenue by renting and selling equipment, identifying product and service needs for the manager, and providing exceptional customer service. The position involves learning about specialty engineered rental products and services, including generators, pumps, chillers, heating and cooling equipment, dehumidification, load banks, and electrical distribution. This position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Strong customer service orientation and sales experience or skills.
Proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Engineering aptitude, including the ability to properly size, quote, install, and maintain large projects.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of the rental business and specialty engineered rental products and services.
Establish new rental and sales accounts through telemarketing and by serving call-in customers.
Process rental quotations, reservations, contracts, and invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Educate customers on proper equipment usage and safety procedures.
Ensure contract-related information entered into the branch computer system is accurate.
Coordinate and track daily equipment pickups and returns.
Run reports needed to monitor equipment and support smooth operations.
Coordinate with inside and outside branch employees to deliver customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate inventory records of branch assets.
Rent and sell equipment, advise the manager of product and service needs, and provide customer service.
