Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in inside sales preferably within the warehouse and distribution or related industry.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing a sales team with proven leadership skills.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems – NetSuite.
  • Experience monitoring the market environment to identify business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Technical expertise and knowledge of industry products and material.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the inside sales team, providing coaching, training, performance feedback, and development.
  • Partners with the Branch Manager to manage staffing levels, load leveling, and participate in hiring decisions to support branch growth.
  • Drive sales growth by developing new customer relationships and cultivating existing accounts.
  • Assist senior management in developing and executing sales strategies to drive branch revenue, increase market share, and enhance customer relationships.
  • Monitor daily sales metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met or exceeded and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, financial analysis, sales pipeline, customer feedback, operational status, and competitive trends.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration between sales, warehouse, operations, shipping and receiving, and customer service to ensure accurate order processing, inventory management, and delivery schedules.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and support outside sales efforts as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain ERP to support transparency and real-time tracking in NetSuite.
  • Increase personal knowledge and expertise in business acumen, appropriate technology, and industry product knowledge.
  • Performs semi-routine duties where judgment is required when communicating with customers, sales representatives, and inter-company personnel. Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.
