About The Position

Carrier is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer to support sales and engineering teams with the design, selection, and application of chiller systems for commercial and industrial projects. The role helps select suitable equipment, optimize proposals, and support sales, contributing to customer satisfaction and sales success. The position is intended for someone with a foundational understanding of HVAC systems who wants to develop technical expertise in applied and airside applications, working closely with senior application engineers and sales teams to support equipment selection, system performance, and energy efficiency. The role enables sales teams to focus on customer engagement and solution selling. Work includes preparing equipment selections and proposals, maintaining project documentation, supporting post-sale activities, and developing product and industry knowledge. Local site visits may be conducted when needed, and domestic travel of up to 25% is required.

Requirements

Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction, or a technical trade school certificate/diploma.
At least 2 years of experience with commercial HVAC systems.
Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing and selecting chiller systems based on project specifications and client requirements.
Use proprietary selection software to size and configure industrial cooling products.
Prepare and distribute technical proposals and submittals, including equipment selection, system layout, and cost estimates.
Collaborate with sales teams to provide solutions aligned with customer needs.
Conduct local site visits when necessary to gather data, assess system performance, and check compliance with design specifications.
Assist in answering technical questions from commercial sales engineers.
Maintain project documentation and records, including design calculations, equipment specifications, CRM updates, and client communications.
Keep technical information organized, accessible, and aligned with internal standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve process efficiency and proposal accuracy.
Support post-sale activities, including installation guidance, start-up technical assistance, and warranty-related inquiries.
Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices in chiller applications.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to build technical and application expertise.
Learn from senior engineers and technical mentors to deepen understanding of system performance.
Assist in training courses for commercial sales engineers.
