About The Position

National General is seeking an Inside Property Adjuster to join our Claims team! This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from home while conducting occasional in-person inspections to evaluate homeowner property claims. Prior experience handling residential homeowner claims, with proficiency in Xactimate and XactAnalysis, is highly preferred. This role is responsible for investigating and managing complex homeowner claims from initial inspection through resolution. Evaluates coverage, assess damages, and prepare detailed estimates to support fair and accurate claim outcomes. You will work directly with customers, contractors, and internal partners to ensure timely resolution while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
Requirements
- Prior experience handling residential homeowner claims
- Proficiency in Xactimate and XactAnalysis
- Ability to conduct occasional in-person inspections
- Ability to evaluate coverage, assess damages, and prepare detailed estimates
- Ability to work directly with customers, contractors, and internal partners
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and company guidelines
- Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating.
- Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

Responsibilities
- Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities
- Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers
- Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files
- Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad hoc training
- Recommends process improvements
