About The Position

The Service Company is looking for an Inside Parts Sales & Operations Specialist for their Springfield location. This role involves finding the right parts, assisting customers, supporting technicians and outside sales personnel, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the parts department. The position requires a proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks, solve problems, and be a reliable point of contact for inquiries and needs. This is a dynamic role with varied responsibilities, not limited to a single task throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Experience with heavy-duty truck, automotive, equipment, or parts (preferred).
  • Good mechanical aptitude and enjoyment of learning different parts and product lines.
  • Comfortable using computers, electronic catalogs, vendor websites, and inventory systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, explaining things clearly.
  • Skill in juggling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail to ensure correct parts are provided.
  • Takes ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, organized, and willing to assist wherever needed.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to occasionally make parts deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Sell heavy-duty truck, trailer, and related parts to customers at the counter and over the phone.
  • Help customers identify the right parts and provide pricing and availability.
  • Support outside salesperson with parts lookups, sourcing, orders, and customer needs.
  • Work directly with technicians and the service department to source parts for repairs.
  • Use electronic parts catalogs, vendor websites, and lookup systems to find parts.
  • Keep customers informed about orders, backorders, substitutions, pricing, and availability.
  • Coordinate with the delivery team to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Receive and verify incoming parts and inventory.
  • Put inventory away and maintain accurate bin locations.
  • Process cores, warranties, and customer/vendor returns.
  • Perform cycle counts and help maintain accurate inventory.
  • Keep shelving, bins, the warehouse, and the parts department organized.
  • Occasionally deliver parts to customers or between company locations.
  • Work with technicians, service staff, salespeople, drivers, vendors, and customers to keep jobs moving.
