About The Position
Builders FirstSource is seeking a customer-focused Inside Counter Sales professional to join their team at the Coos Bay, OR Yard. This role is crucial in delivering an exceptional customer experience by combining product knowledge, sales expertise, and outstanding customer service to assist customers with projects ranging from decks and fences to sheds and stairs. The ideal candidate thrives on building relationships, solving problems, and supporting customers throughout their project lifecycle.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months of sales, retail, customer service, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in building materials, home improvement, construction, or related industries.
- Knowledge of estimating materials for residential projects.
- Experience operating or willingness to learn material handling equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist retail customers in person, by phone, and via email.
- Answer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and returns/exchanges.
- Guide customers in selecting the best products and solutions for their needs.
- Build positive customer relationships through professional and responsive service.
- Actively promote and sell company products, services, and related solutions.
- Prepare material estimates and project quotes for smaller construction projects, including decks, fences, stairs, and sheds.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales through product recommendations and add-on offerings.
- Develop a strong understanding of company products, pricing, and promotions.
- Enter customer orders accurately into company systems.
- Schedule and coordinate product deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Monitor order details and follow through on customer requests.
- Assist with inventory management, stocking, merchandising, and signage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in customer workshops and educational events.
- Resolve routine customer concerns and escalate more complex issues when needed.
