Inpatient Pharmacy Technician FT
About The Position
Saint Mary's Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to assist with processing physician prescriptions according to prescribed procedures so medications are filled promptly, accurately, and safely. The technician prepares medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists with patient questions and service, and maintains records related to drug use and charges. This is a full-time position with 32-hour rotating shifts. Shift and weekend differentials apply. The role is based at Saint Mary’s Hospital, a Catholic, not-for-profit community teaching hospital serving Waterbury, Connecticut, and surrounding communities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Connecticut registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience is strongly preferred.
- National PTCB certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use the pharmacy computer system to input, retrieve, and analyze data.
- Prepare prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Prepare and prioritize prescriptions according to need.
- Handle cash, maintain cash control, and complete day-to-day retail transactions in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Track inventory and assist with daily ordering.
- Assist with patient questions and service.
- Maintain records related to drug use and charges.
