Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient

About The Position
Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations and help ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery for pediatric patients. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, the technician assists with medication preparation and distribution, inventory management, and pharmacy technology support. The position has a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts, either 7:00 AM–5:30 PM or 10:30 AM–9:00 PM, with every other weekend and four holidays annually.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or HSED.
- Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required prior to starting.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
- At least one year of pharmacy or healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, label, and deliver medications.
- Compound sterile products using aseptic technique and USP 797 standards.
- Process patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Manage medication inventory, including stocking, ordering, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Handle controlled substances and assist with discrepancy resolution.
- Support automated dispensing cabinets and other pharmacy technologies.
- Answer calls and assist patients, families, nurses, and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
