About The Position

Directs daily operations of pharmacy services. This position directs and supports pharmacy staff. Participates in determining the department's short- and long-term goals and related policies and procedures. Provides leadership and guidance to the pharmacy staff.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy required or Doctor of Pharmacy required
Pharmacist [State License] - required
Related Pharmacy management experience 2-3 years required
Must have excellent verbal, written, and quantitative skills.
Displays a comprehensive knowledge of department operations.
Shows knowledge of the pharmacology of drugs and the legal aspects of dispensing.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills to educate and supervise staff, normally acquired after three to five years of related hospital experience in a progressive, large health care organization and through self-directed education.
Can work accurately and make decisions under stress and with time constraints.
Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership, guidance, and serves as a role model to those professionals under his/her supervision.
Supervises and directs the daily operations of pharmacy services. Schedule and assign staff.
Serves as a resource person regarding pharmacy policies to pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff.
Participates in on-call responsibility as assigned.
Responsible for staff development and performance evaluation.
Assists in the recruitment, interviews, and training of new staff.
Participates in the development of policy and procedures.
Conducts educational programs, in-services, and staff meetings.
