About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Manager for the Inpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. Location: Onsite- Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Shift: M-F Days The Pharmacy Manager oversees and supervises all activities and services within the Pharmacy. This role ensures that pharmacy services are safe, compliant, effective, and prompt. The manager is accountable for daily operations, workflow coordination, quality and service standards, strategic planning, and medication management locally and within the system.

Requirements

• Valid pharmacist license required in the state of practice
• Bachelors Level Degree in Pharmacy (Required)
• Virginia Pharmacist License (Required)
• 3 years of Pharmacist experience (Required)
• 1 year leadership experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Doctorate Level Degree in Pharmacy (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with applicable clinical practice standards
• Assures the appropriateness of all provider medication orders in maintaining a high level of patient care and safety
• Maintains advanced knowledge of medication use, disease states, and regulations applicable to their area of practice
• Oversees the training of new employees and the creation and maintenance of training materials
• Assists with the development of policies and procedures
• Demonstrates superior customer service, effective communication, decision-making, and organization
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Precepts pharmacy students and/or pharmacy residents as assigned
• Provides leader and peer coaching and constructive feedback to colleagues in a professional and productive manner
• Successfully leads local and system implementation of various system initiatives
• Develops, implements, and evaluates pharmacy services, protocols, policies & procedures consistent with established standards
• Participates in local and/or system committees related to pharmacy services as necessary and assigned
• Provides operational support and staffing based on the needs of the team
• Serves as a liaison for provider and community-relations activities
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
