About The Position

Palm Point Behavioral Health (affiliated with Universal Health Services) is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital located in Titusville, Florida. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children and adolescents suffering from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. The Therapist will work with both Inpatient and Outpatient programs, performing clinical functions to assist patients in meeting their goals through therapeutic treatment skills. This includes providing basic consultation, teaching, specialized clinical social work services, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, group therapy, providing information and referrals, and individual therapy when ordered by an MD. The Therapist provides a variety of psychotherapeutic services, including family and individual therapy for adults and children in an inpatient and outpatient psychiatric Behavioral Health Center setting, working with patients who have co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse disorders, and other behavioral disorders. The Therapist is a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, completing individual patient assessments and providing individual and group therapy as required. Therapists will communicate with collateral contacts, schools, and outpatient providers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy or related behavioral health discipline required.
  • A working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
  • An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW, LMFT, LMFTI, LMHC, or LMHCI preferred
  • Experience with structured environments or high acuity populations (behavioral health, crisis intervention, or group facilitation settings) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Clinical functions to assist patients in meeting their goals while enabling them to access, through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health.
  • Provide basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, group therapy, providing information and referrals as needed, and individual therapy when ordered by an MD.
  • Provide a variety of psychotherapeutic services including family and individual (adults and children) in an inpatient and outpatient psychiatric Behavioral Health Center setting.
  • Work with patients who have co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse disorders and other behavioral disorders.
  • Be a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, working with patients who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
  • Complete individual patient assessments and provide individual and group therapy as required.
  • Communicate with collateral contacts, schools, and outpatient providers.
