About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of substance use treatment centers providing evidence-based addiction treatment across the full continuum of care. They are JCAHO- and CARF-accredited and operate in full alignment with ASAM standards, emphasizing clinical excellence and collaborative, mission-driven teams. The organization is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) for their Detox and Residential treatment facility in Fort Collins, CO. This role involves providing medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight in a detox and residential substance use disorder treatment setting. The position focuses on patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance within a structured, supportive environment. It is an in-person role where clinicians are trusted to practice with integrity and compassion, working as part of a collaborative team to help patients stabilize, engage in treatment, and begin meaningful recovery.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Colorado
  • Valid Colorado medical license
  • Active DEA registration
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health (1+ year preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care
  • Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support engagement in treatment
  • Order and review medications, labs, and urine drug screens (UDS)
  • Document all medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review (UR) teams
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards
  • Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently
