About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant for its inpatient Detox and Residential treatment facility in Norfolk, Virginia. The role provides medical care and monitoring for clients during treatment, including medication management, orders, and review of test results. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a medical field and related certifications.
• Valid state medical license (PMHNP, FNP, or PA-C).
• Federal DEA certification.
• Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaborative and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

• 3–5 years of experience in a related clinical setting, such as substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health.

Responsibilities

• Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for each client throughout treatment.
• Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
• Update pharmacy orders and create UDS, medication, and lab orders; review and address UDS and lab results.
• Collaborate with extended medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
• Complete the daily and weekly client appointment schedule in a timely and efficient manner.
