About The Position

As a Pharm Tech-Inpt Adv Drug Ther, you will help ensure the safe and accurate preparation of medications requiring special handling, including cytotoxic drugs and investigational therapies. Under a pharmacist’s supervision, you will support patient care by processing medication orders, maintaining inventory, and following strict protocols. Your work contributes to the safety and effectiveness of patient treatments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Pharmacy Technician license from the State of Michigan.
• At least one year of experience as a Hospital Pharmacy Technician and/or Retail Pharmacy Technician; retail experience applies only to medication history positions.
• Ability to maintain records and perform calculations.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard and type approximately 25 WPM.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with cytotoxic drug handling and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with investigational drug protocols and research records.

Responsibilities

• Process orders for medications requiring special handling, preparation, and accountability.
• Safely handle and prepare cytotoxic and other special drugs in a vertical flow hood environment.
• Maintain Investigational Drug Research Records and validate doses using protocols.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including lifting, carrying, and stocking medications.
• Deliver prescriptions to nursing units and ensure accurate documentation.
• Develop or modify departmental protocols for medications requiring special handling, in consultation with a supervising pharmacist.
