About The Position

Palo Verde Behavioral Health is seeking an Inpatient Adult Psychiatrist in Tucson, Arizona. The facility provides individualized inpatient and intensive outpatient mental health and substance-use treatment for adults and adolescents and has served the Tucson area since 1960.

The psychiatrist will care for a general adult inpatient population, with an average of 15 total patient encounters per day. The position is full time and is preferred as a 1099 independent contractor, with W-2 employment optional. The schedule is Monday through Friday during the day, with phone-only evening call once per week. Weekend rounding is shared among the team, averaging one weekend in four.

Benefits are available only to W-2 employees. Compensation may include a productivity bonus and additional earnings for weekend coverage and evening call. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited program.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry.
• Arizona medical license or ability to obtain an Arizona medical license.
• Meet all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care to a general adult patient population.
• Manage an average of 15 total patient encounters per day.
• Participate in phone-only evening call once per week.
• Participate in weekend rounding, averaging one weekend in four.
