About The Position

River Oaks Hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs. River Oaks Hospital, located in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders. The position is full-time and hospital employed, with an on-site, Monday-Friday schedule. Patient volume is negotiable, with an expected daily caseload of 15-20. The practice setting is inpatient, serving ages 18 and older for general psychiatric care, and all ages for weekend call. Call requirements include 1 night a week of overnight telephonic call and 1:4 weekend call. The role is supported by a multidisciplinary team including BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, and Therapists. Key responsibilities include conducting admission evaluations, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing treatment follow-up for patients. The psychiatrist will also participate in daily treatment team meetings, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines. The position duties include admission evaluations, daily care of assigned patients in the programs, treatment team leadership, and interaction with administrative and clinical staff.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry.
  • Must be comfortable treating both General Adult and Addiction caseloads.
  • Active LA license or ability to obtain licensure.
