About The Position

River Oaks Hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs. River Oaks Hospital, located in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders. This is a full-time hospital employed position with a Monday-Friday schedule. The role involves an on-site practice setting for inpatient care of patients aged 18 and older, with all ages considered for weekend call. The position includes tele-phonic call responsibilities one night a week and 1:4 weekend call. The psychiatrist will work within a multidisciplinary team including BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, and Therapists. Key responsibilities include conducting admission evaluations, developing treatment plans, providing ongoing treatment follow-up, participating in daily treatment team meetings, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, and completing patient documentation. The position duties include admission evaluations, daily care of assigned patients in the programs, treatment team leadership and interaction with administrative and clinical staff.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry.
  • Must be comfortable treating both General Adult and Addiction caseloads.
  • Active LA license or ability to obtain licensure
