Inmate Transfer Coordinator /Administrative Specialist II
About The Position
The Inmate Transfer Coordinator / Administrative Specialist II position within the Adult Correction Division COO - OPS - Institutions Operations performs a variety of functions critical to the management of offender populations. This role involves scheduling new admissions from local jails and transferring offenders between divisional facilities. The position requires monitoring bed capacity at diagnostic centers and throughout the division, understanding criteria for offender transport, and communicating effectively with jail and division personnel. A key responsibility is monitoring transfers from diagnostic and treatment centers to ensure they are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion. The role also involves reviewing and prioritizing the jail backlog, scheduling offenders as beds become available, and obtaining necessary information from jail staff to schedule pre-trial offenders. Sound judgment capabilities are essential for this position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Proven knowledge of adult correction facilities, capacities, population and divisional policy and procedure.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic, classification and transfers of inmates.
- Demonstrated skills with written and verbal communication skills to meet the requirements for this position.
- Working experience with OPUS and knowledge with Microsoft Systems.
