About The Position

Crazy Shirts creates original and memorable artwork on quality products. The Ink Technician consistently replicates formulated inks in the proper yields to support the print schedule. The role develops color-mixing yields and consistency to match approved samples, maintains current knowledge of color-matching developments, and supports the development of ink mixers. It also manages ink recipes, inventory, supplies, equipment, and materials.

Requirements

Ability to distinguish colors, color shades, and slight color variations.
Comfort communicating verbally and in writing with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
Comfort working with digitizing equipment and standard office productivity tools.
Ability to perform essential job functions while standing for long periods and bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and moving items up to 45 pounds.
Manual dexterity to operate and calibrate equipment.
Ability to perform essential job functions in varied noise levels and with exposure to light, heat, and chemicals.
Ability to abide by company Exposure Prevention, Preparedness, and Response guidelines for communicable diseases and workplace safety, including using masks as needed and required by CDC and company recommendations and using cleaning supplies for cleaning and disinfection.

Responsibilities

Develop the yield composition and color-mixing consistency needed to match approved samples.
Keep current with color-matching developments involving opaque, translucent, and white bases and the effects of different mixture properties.
Work with ink mixers on their on-the-job development.
Keep ink mixing ahead of the print schedule in accordance with the production schedule.
Minimize scoop time caused by incorrectly mixed colors.
Understand and communicate the effects and reactions of different mixtures, compounds, and supplier differentials.
Script and maintain the color recipe ledger for all designs.
Catalog, label, and manage the storage of inks and ink components.
Manage supplies, work-in-process equipment, and materials.
Mix inks in support of ink mixers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
