About The Position

The Injection Molding Technician develops the knowledge and skills needed to perform essential job functions. The role supports plant objectives to minimize downtime, increase productivity, and maintain the Toyota Production System. It implements injection molding processes, procedures, and techniques to improve efficiency, product quality, and productivity.

The technician manages injection-machine setup and processing, mold and color changes, and troubleshooting of molding equipment. The position is based in an automotive manufacturing plant and may involve travel of 0–10%.

Requirements

• Two years of previous injection molding experience, including experience with machines and robots.
• Manufacturing experience and experience with problem solving.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Flexibility in a changing environment and flexibility to work mandatory overtime.
• English language skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to talk, see, and hear; walk, sit, and stand; and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage setup and processing on injection machines.
• Manage mold changes according to the kanban system and set dies for required production runs.
• Troubleshoot injection-machine, mold, and other molding-equipment issues.
• Operate injection molding machines, mold-changing equipment, and an overhead crane.
• Perform mold changes and color changes.
• Support Kaizen and related activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
