Injection Molding Technician
About The Position
Join BD's manufacturing team as a Mold Set-Up Technician, helping keep injection molding operations safe, efficient, and aligned with quality standards. The hands-on role involves setting up molds and equipment, monitoring production processes, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products are produced on schedule. The role is based at BD's primary work location in Sandy, Utah. It follows a 12-hour alternating night shift from 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM, scheduled for seven days during each 14-day period: two days on, three days off, two days on, two days off, three days on, and two days off. Every other weekend is scheduled off. BD states that its manufacturing operations prioritize on-site collaboration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Set up molds, injection molding machines, and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor production processes and adjust machines to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot molding defects and support corrective actions.
- Complete production paperwork and process documentation.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
- Support mold changes, mold maintenance, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, tooling, material handling, and production teams.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
