About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Injection Mold Changeover Technician II to support a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing operation. This position will optimize changeovers, stabilize processes, and drive uptime on advanced Husky HyPET and G-Line systems. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment while contributing directly to production performance and continuous improvement. Schedule: M-F

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in injection molding or high-speed plastics manufacturing
  • Experience with PET processing and high-cavitation tooling
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, or integrated manufacturing systems
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (5S, Kaizen, OEE focus)
  • Technical certification or trade school background
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to independently diagnose issues and make sound technical decisions under pressure
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and process documentation
  • Solid understanding of molding processes, material behavior, and equipment interaction
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety practices (LOTO, GMP)
  • Experience with SAP or similar production systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • High level of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Lead mold and core changeovers (target: 2–6 hours) with a focus on efficiency and repeatability
  • Own machine readiness, ensuring consistent First Shot Run success and minimal startup scrap
  • Verify and optimize all mold connections (water, air, hydraulic, electrical) prior to startup
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, process, and material issues with minimal supervision
  • Monitor and stabilize machine performance post-changeover to meet cycle time and quality targets
  • Partner with Process Technicians and Engineers to optimize setup parameters and performance
  • Drive reduction of downtime, scrap, and changeover time through continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on material handling systems (dryers, blenders, pumps)
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues
  • Ensure proper mold care, handling, and preventive maintenance to extend tooling life
  • Stage and prepare molds, tooling, and materials to support efficient production scheduling
  • Maintain accurate documentation in SAP and production logs with attention to detail
  • Enforce and model adherence to safety standards, including LOTO and GMP
  • Mentor and support development of junior technicians; lead by example on the floor
  • Maintain 5S standards and contribute to a highly organized, efficient work environment
