About The Position

This role is an on-shift, night-shift position working 6:45pm-7:15am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. The primary responsibility for the maintenance technician is to safely keep the plant running, perform PMs on all manufacturing equipment, and perform new installs. Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety rules, manufacturer recommendations, OSHA regulations and general work safety practices
  • Ability to interpret and understand basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and functions
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate to all levels
  • Self-starting, inwardly motivated and proactive individual
  • Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision and follow up
  • Ability to handle stress and the pressures of multiple tasks, demanding schedules and deadlines, diverse personalities, and daily conflicts
  • Commitment to providing our customers a product that is safe and meets specifications, regulations and statutory requirements
  • Two-year associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent experience base
  • Ability to document repairs, equipment status, and the equipment history files
  • Good physical strength and dexterity necessary to move around moving machinery including climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, etc.

  • A solid base education or experience in plastics, plastic manufacturing equipment, machine tool, and power transmission equipment, rigging, hydraulics and pneumatics and electrical

Responsibilities

  • Safely keep the plant running
  • Perform PMs on all manufacturing equipment
  • Perform new installs
  • Understand and follow without exception PPE requirements, safe electrical practices, Energy Isolation procedures, HMIS, and other plant safety requirements
  • Work jointly with production team to ensure that equipment is in safe and efficient operational status at all times
  • Works individually and jointly with plant team members to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimum utilization and process capability
  • Be able to interpret and understand basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and functions
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the spare parts crib in an orderly fashion with utilizing first in/first out methodology
  • Assist Maintenance Planner in assuring appropriate levels of inventory
  • Have strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate to all levels
  • Be a self-starting, inwardly motivated and proactive individual
  • Be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and follow up
  • Have the ability to handle stress and the pressures of multiple tasks, demanding schedules and deadlines, diverse personalities, and daily conflicts
  • Utilize own personal basic tools and follow proper product safety measures when completing maintenance
  • Work overtime as required, including to cover vacations
  • Evaluate our standard operation procedures and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Be committed to providing our customers a product that is safe and meets specifications, regulations and statutory requirements
  • Perform all plant equipment start up and shutdown procedures individually and/or with production team personnel in a safe and efficient manner
