About The Position

This position oversees all Ingredient Control pre-weigh processes during their shift, acting as a liaison between the company and the customer. The role is responsible for leading kit assembly for the production plant, including pre-weigh ingredients, tracking inventory, and following detailed instructions. The Ingredient Control Lead ensures that all details and specifications of each product are met and that co-workers follow recipes and directions accurately. This role also involves overseeing kitting, preparation for kitting, movement to storage, and all associated record keeping, ensuring FEFO (First Expired First Out) is followed. The position is also responsible for evaluating and suggesting improvements for processes, learning and applying new procedures, and ensuring all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functions properly. Additionally, the role involves pre-weighing ingredients according to customer-specific recipes, maintaining cleanliness of responsible areas, assisting in physical inventory counts, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, quality production, and food safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret formulas and procedures in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
  • Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a Production environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift certification

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the company and customer, being sensitive to Confidentiality Agreements.
  • Monitor activities in the area of responsibility at all times during the shift.
  • Train and lead co-workers, communicating effectively.
  • Work to minimize change over time.
  • Ensure that every detail and specification of each product is met.
  • Ensure co-workers follow recipes and directions accurately.
  • Oversee kitting, preparation for kitting, movement to storage, and all associated record keeping.
  • Ensure FEFO (First Expired First Out) is followed with all ingredient consumption.
  • Evaluate and make suggestions for the continuous improvement of processes in the area of responsibility.
  • Learn and apply new processes and procedures in the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and works properly at peak efficiency.
  • Pre-weigh Ingredients following customer specific recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of areas responsible for.
  • Assist in conducting physical counts on customer owned inventories.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.
