The position is based at our Longueuil (Plant 1) location; internship from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site. Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our organization. This team is responsible for the governance and management of non-conforming hardware across all organizations within P&WC. The role encompasses two recognized industry-leading processes for managing significant non-conformities that may have a potential safety impact or major disruption to our customers. This position includes the roles of a Technical Lead and QR/MR Coordinator to provide robust technical leadership and support for complex investigations and enhance interconnectivity between QR (Quality Review) and MR (Material Review) groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering)
  • 5+ years of experience in related functional engineering field
  • Excellent written & verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with competing and varying priorities.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the aerospace industry.
  • Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for managing and resolving significant non-conformities in compliance with industry standards and organizational procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex investigations, ensuring the application of appropriate resources, analysis methodologies, and solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate root cause analyses to identify, document, and resolve issues related to non-conforming hardware.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, supply chain, and customer support) to ensure timely resolution of non-conformities and minimize customer impact.
  • Establish and maintain a structured training program for QR/MR personnel, ensuring alignment with sponsorship initiatives and promoting continuing education.
  • Develop and manage metrics to monitor performance, progress, and effectiveness of QR/MR activities.
  • Foster an environment that prioritizes alignment, the exchange of best practices, and the development and dissemination of standard work across various operational groups.
  • Conduct monthly reviews with QR/MR supervisors and managers to share KPIs, discuss project status, and facilitate communication between groups.
  • Act as the technical representative for QR/MR in ESA, CRPC, and other committees or initiatives requiring QR/MR input (e.g., Engineering group, Central Quality, etc.).
  • Ensure audit expectations recommended by QMSPs are fulfilled, with reports made available for effective managerial oversight (e.g., annual CRPC audits).
