Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Relevant product development experience
  • Experience in composite materials, glazing, plastics, and metals
  • Knowledge of geometric and dimensional tolerancing, DFM/DFA principles, and FMEA analyses
  • Ability and interest in writing technical documents: Specifications, Test Plans, and technical reports
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Be the technical owner of assigned finishing components and subsystems.
  • Understand/document tolerancing requirements to achieve repeatability in production installation.
  • Prepare, format, and communicate technical requirements to suppliers (specifications).
  • Conduct technical meetings with designers and manufacturing engineering.
  • Define validation plans, conduct checks and tests to validate designs.
  • Approve changes and new designs on systems.
  • Coach design teams integrating systems on the vehicle.
  • Be the internal reference for the state of technology in this field.
  • Conduct technological watch, identify opportunities.
  • Participate in defining the technical content of projects (technical requirements, validation, risks).
  • Guide and support development and production teams.
  • Plan the work of collaborators and/or external teams, considering deadlines.
  • Evaluate risks associated with development and plan alternatives to meet expected project results.
  • Participate in the technical analysis of failures observed in service and ensure the definition and implementation of relevant corrective actions.
  • Be the representative and technical guardian of systems under their responsibility with clients and suppliers.
