About The Position

The role involves performing complex analyses in areas such as heat transfer, pipe network flow, thermodynamics, and aircraft icing. The engineer will be responsible for understanding and interpreting results within the context of aircraft design and sizing, preparing test plans, and documenting analysis and test results. Additionally, the position requires writing and updating the company's engineering practice documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering (including courses or projects in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, in-flight icing and/or CFD analyses).
  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in the thermodynamics and icing engineering field.
  • Self-motivated and innovative team player.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office software (advanced level for Excel).
  • Good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills.
  • Willing to travel for short term assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Having a Master’s degree is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Flomaster is an asset.
  • Familiar with programming (Unix Operating System and with programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, C++/C# & Python is an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analyses of heat transfer, pipe network flow, thermodynamics or aircraft Icing.
  • Understand and frame the results within the context of the design and right sizing of an aircraft.
  • Prepare test plans.
  • Document analysis, ground and flight test results.
  • Write and update Engineering practice documents.
