About The Position

The Stress Engineer will be responsible for performing structural stress analyses to validate and certify 3D design models. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and provide technical leadership to the engineering team.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of CATIA V5 design and 3D modeling software.
  • Working knowledge of ENOVIA.
  • Experience with NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, and HYPERMESH.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership for assigned tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage responsibilities and adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Demonstrated adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and strong initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism (English and French, both written and spoken) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the definition and development of structural concepts.
  • Perform stress analyses on complex aircraft structures and components.
  • Communicate with clients and provide technical updates and analysis reports.
  • Support the definition of certification test requirements.
  • Contribute to the preparation, review, and validation of certification reports.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of stress analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on structural integrity and material-related issues.
  • Review and validate stress analysis reports prepared by other team members.
  • Support the Project Manager in workload planning and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to technical proposals and bid submissions.
  • Share technical expertise and mentor members of the engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain quality procedures related to stress engineering activities.
  • Serve as the stress engineering focal point for weight engineering projects.
  • Support SOGECLAIR in the development of new client projects and business opportunities.
  • Understand and comply with AS9100 requirements applicable to the role, following the company's Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and applying the appropriate quality tools in daily activities.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
