About The Position

ArcelorMittal Mines et Infrastructure Canada is looking for a principal instrumentation engineer. This role will act as a technical leader in their discipline within projects, translating business needs and operational requirements into clear, consistent, and applicable technical specifications. They will ensure the quality, compliance, and performance of instrumentation and control systems throughout all engineering phases. They will support the Project Manager in execution and the Expert in strategic technical decisions on complex projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (instrumentation, electrical, or automation)
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in industrial instrumentation
  • Experience with control systems
  • Good ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an industrial or mining environment (major asset)

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical leader in instrumentation and control systems
  • Translate business needs into clear and structured technical requirements
  • Validate engineering deliverables (P&ID, control philosophies, system architecture)
  • Ensure multidisciplinary coordination (process, electrical, civil, etc.)
  • Identify and manage technical risks and contribute to solving complex problems
  • Participate in technical reviews and approval processes (AFE)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of practices
