About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist in Airport Infrastructure for a permanent, full-time position based in Montreal. The role can also be performed remotely, provided the selected candidate can periodically travel to their home office, with a flexible schedule that balances professional life, personal life, and geographical realities. Reporting to the Airport Sector Manager, the selected individual will contribute to the execution of electrical engineering projects related to airport infrastructure, both in Quebec and across Canada. They will join a team of recognized engineers and specialists working on complex, multidisciplinary projects. AECOM's airport projects are distinguished by their scope and diversity, integrating electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural engineering, as well as telecommunications and control-instrumentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in airport infrastructure.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Solid knowledge of electricity (Electrical Code and applicable standards).
  • Experience in writing technical documents and procedures.
  • Experience in design and work supervision.
  • Excellent command of French, both oral and written.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Availability for occasional travel to airports in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD software.

  • 10 years or more of experience in a related field.

  • Good command of English, both oral and written (for occasional mandates outside Quebec).
  • Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively solve complex technical problems.
  • ASP Construction Card – General Health and Safety on Construction Sites.
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada's TP312 standard and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards.
  • Knowledge of airport electrical installations: runway lighting circuits, apron lighting, distribution networks, connections, and generators.
  • Interest or knowledge in instrumentation and control.
  • Interest or knowledge in networking (wired or wireless) and information technology (IT).
  • Interest or knowledge in video surveillance, access control, road lighting, and traffic lights.
  • Experience with AGi32, Revit, or BIM software.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness, autonomy, and good teamwork.
  • Fast and effective learning ability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical engineering projects in the airport sector.
  • Participate in the design and production of plans using CAD tools.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and technical documents in compliance with current standards.
  • Develop project schedules and estimate work costs.
  • Contribute to the execution of technical studies and the writing of specialized reports.
  • Participate in site supervision and monitoring of electrical work.
  • Support the management and monitoring of ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of service offers.
  • Conduct technical research and gather information from clients, partners, and suppliers.
