About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is currently looking for an industrial electrical engineer to support the growth of its business and strengthen its well-established team of experts. As an industrial electrical specialist, you will leverage your expertise to tackle challenging technical challenges and develop innovative, reliable, safe, and efficient solutions. Working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the realization of large-scale projects, the continuous improvement of industrial facilities and equipment, and the modernization of strategic infrastructure for our clients. This opportunity will allow you to participate in all stages of projects, from design to commissioning, while having a concrete impact on the performance and sustainability of facilities. The position is offered in one of our offices in Quebec City, Montreal, or Abitibi, depending on the preference of the selected candidate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the field of electricity, specifically in the Mines & Metals, petrochemical, and aluminum industries.
• Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Good knowledge of the industrial environment.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Knowledge and proficiency in ETAP or EasyPower, or any other software for electrical studies.
• Knowledge and mastery of Arc flash standards.
• Ability to lead electrical projects.
• Possession of the "General Health and Safety on Construction Sites" training.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook.
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written).
• This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as clients and suppliers you will interact with are primarily English-speaking and located outside Quebec.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical plans and single-line diagrams.
• Perform short-circuit, coordination, protection, and arc-flash studies using EasyPower, ETAP, or other software.
• Calculate and prepare protection relay settings.
• Prepare specifications for the purchase of low and medium voltage equipment.
• Analyze submissions related to electrical equipment.
• Coordinate projects in direct liaison with the client.
• Supervise and actively participate in electrical design.
• Supervise a team of engineers and technicians.
• Detailed designs of low and medium voltage electrical distribution.
• Low and medium voltage system wiring.
• Cable tray design.
• Connection of electric motors.
• Grounding system design (MALT).
