About The Position
The employee is responsible for designing the mechanical components of the alternator for hydroelectric power plant projects. They will also be responsible for providing technical support to the supply chain and on-site activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, combined with 1 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Strong knowledge of strength of materials
- Strong analytical skills
- Willingness to travel
- Fluent in written and spoken English and French
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of CAD tools
- Experience in hydropower is an asset
- Proactive, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Team player with a positive attitude, willing to learn and adapt to business needs
Responsibilities
- Deliver design packages related to alternator components using technical guidelines and project lessons learned
- Support designers and technicians in the preparation of calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Lead and participate in design reviews with other engineers, cross‑functional teams, and technical experts
- Collaborate with other Centers of Excellence (COEs) worldwide
- Provide technical support to the supply chain as well as to on‑site activities
- Apply company rules and engineering principles to ensure project reliability, quality, safety, and effective control of schedules and costs
