About The Position

The Infusion Patient Account Representative is primarily responsible for handling incoming calls. The Patient Account representative will provide assistance to the Infusion Medical records clerk in maintaining electronic charts by scanning and filing infusion records. The representative will help the Infusion Benefits coordinators to handle and distribute incoming calls, assist, and schedule patients.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately file and maintain patient records, reports and other correspondence.
  • Skill in English grammar and spelling.
  • Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a professional, pleasant, and helpful manner.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate interaction with staff, patients, and business contacts.
  • Must possess a professional and responsible attitude.
  • Skill with basic computer applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to read, understand, communicate, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of health insurance companies.
  • Skill in operating a computer, photocopier, scanner, fax machine, postage machine, and folding machine.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic computer experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year post high school education preferred.
  • One year in a medical office setting as a medical receptionist/records clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls for ARISE.
  • Answer transfer calls from the Wheaton Call Center.
  • Transfer or coordinate with the strategic scheduler team to schedule patients as needed.
  • Take messages for staff members.
  • Forward tasks and messages through the appropriate channel, such as EPM, EHR, verbal, etc.
  • Check EHR tasks, reply to and/or forward to the appropriate personnel daily.
  • Handles phone voicemail messages.
  • Assist the Infusion Medical Records with recall letters when needed.
  • Assist the Infusion Benefits Coordinators with RTS when needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on all infusion drugs used and the respective pharmaceutical companies and their assistance programs.
  • Forward call or task to the counseling team for insurance benefits inquiries.
  • Assist Infusion Medical Records Clerk to check duplicate records in EHR before labeling and filing records from ReferralMD.
  • Assist Infusion Medical Records Clerk to screen incoming faxes received through ReferralMD and physical fax in the office when needed.
  • Will help Infusion Medical records clerk to obtain outside records for Arise referrals when needed. This includes calling and/or faxing other provider’s offices to request medical records.
  • Assist the Infusion Coordinators with special records requests when needed.
  • Responsible for forwarding none-infusion related faxes to the appropriate department or staff.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
