About The Position
The Infusion Nurse administers intravenous therapies and medications to ensure safe and effective patient care. The role involves assessing patient needs, managing infusion devices, preparing and administering medications, educating patients, and monitoring for complications. The nurse is expected to demonstrate strong clinical assessment, technical proficiency, compassionate communication, and adherence to sterile and safety protocols. This is an on-call, non-benefitted position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Registered Nurse program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions, or equivalent military training; equivalency is determined by Dignity Health Medical Foundation Human Resources in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professionals.
- Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Cancer Chemotherapy Provider (ONS) qualification.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments.
- Provide direct patient care and administer treatments and medications.
- Instruct patients and families in self-administered treatments and procedures.
- Document assessments, observations, and interventions.
- Demonstrate professional growth and conduct.
- Maintain equipment and supplies.
- Initiate and maintain IV therapy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
