About The Position
Helms Home Care is seeking Registered Nurses for PRN (as needed) home infusion positions in Pikeville, KY. The agency is a skilled nursing services company providing in-home infusion care to patients of all ages across multiple states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, West Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, and Kentucky. This role involves delivering compassionate and personalized infusion therapy nursing services directly to patients in their homes.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license with competence in the duties described
- Minimum 1-year experience in infusion therapy and/or catheter maintenance and care
- Reliable transportation
- Access to a printer/scanner/fax machine
- Ability to communicate promptly with scheduling personnel
- Expect to do 2 visits per week
- Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
Responsibilities
- Perform catheter access & care (peripheral IVs, port-a-caths, PICC/central lines), vitals/assessments, medication administration (Abx, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty meds), and blood draws as per patient needs
- Provide patient education on self-administration of medication
- Make visit notes through electronic charting and submit promptly
