About The Position

This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. Martin North Hospital offers comprehensive, physician-supervised infusion services for patients who need specialized medications. Services include IV medications, electrolyte replacement, iron, blood products and other specialty therapies such as chemotherapy and biotherapy. As an RN in the Infusion Suite, you will provide infusion services to patients and deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. This opportunity can lead to cross training, furthering your nursing education and national certifications.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within two years of hire if employed on units where chemo is administered
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
  • Cancer specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the timeframe of the facilities accreditation cycle

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Med/Surg, Emergency Department and/or Oncology experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
