Requirements

  • Current active Oregon state licensure as an LPN.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as an LPN is strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of IV medications, fluids, and blood products.
  • Skill in performing venipuncture and working with a variety of vascular access devices associated with infusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty GI and Triage experience is a plus!
  • ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing professional nursing care for clinic patients under the direction of a Physician(s) and within their scope of practice according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Supporting the infusion suite by obtaining vitals and inserting peripheral IVs.
  • Managing multiple in-basket pools, experience with prior authorization, refill and order processing, and patient phone triage.
  • Performing patient assessment and triage either in person or over the phone.
  • Properly documenting all encounters for providers' review, flagging any urgent concerns.
  • Providing clinical care in accordance with nursing standards within the specialty; may include preparing patients for procedures, taking vitals, documenting relevant medical information, recording and verifying medications, assisting with examinations/diagnostic procedures, and administering medications and treatments.
  • Maintaining a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment.
  • Preparing exam rooms and performing quality control and maintenance of equipment.
  • Ordering and maintaining medical inventory of supplies as requested.
  • Providing information and education related to the treatment, procedure, recovery, medication, test, and/or follow-up needed.
  • Assisting physicians with procedures according to prescribed standards and as requested by the practitioner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
