Requirements

  • Current active Oregon state licensure as an LPN.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of IV medications, fluids, and blood products.
  • Skill in performing venipuncture and working with a variety of vascular access devices associated with infusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as an LPN is strongly preferred.
  • Specialty GI and Triage experience is a plus!
  • ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients under the direction of a Physician and within the scope of practice according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Support the infusion suite by obtaining vitals, inserting peripheral IVs, managing in-basket pools, handling prior authorizations, processing refills and orders, and performing patient phone triage.
  • Perform patient assessment and triage, either in person or over the phone, documenting all encounters for provider review and flagging urgent concerns.
  • Provide clinical care in accordance with nursing standards within the specialty, which may include preparing patients for procedures, taking vitals, documenting medical information, recording and verifying medications, assisting with examinations/diagnostic procedures, and administering medications and treatments.
  • Maintain a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment. May prepare exam rooms, perform quality control and maintenance of equipment, and order/maintain medical inventory of supplies.
  • Provide information and education to patients regarding treatment, procedures, recovery, medications, tests, and follow-up care.
  • Assist physicians with procedures as requested and according to prescribed standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
