This role involves providing infusion-based IV and oral therapy, including chemotherapy. The Registered Nurse will monitor patients receiving IV infusions, conduct pre-infusion triage, and recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs. A key responsibility is reviewing patient labs for therapy appropriateness and performing full patient assessments with proper documentation. The nurse must be proficient in starting IVs, accessing ports, and maintaining central lines within the scope of practice. They will assess patients for potential reactions and side effects of infusions, demonstrate knowledge of emergency and routine equipment and procedures, and maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA. Patient education on diagnoses, care plans, medications, symptom management, and follow-up requirements is crucial for safe and effective outcomes. The role also includes performing oncology triage, assessing patient symptoms and treatment-related side effects, prioritizing care, providing clinical guidance, and coordinating timely interventions with the oncology care team. Additionally, the nurse will coordinate referrals to outside medical facilities, arrange appointments, transfer medical records, and communicate with external providers to ensure continuity of care. The position also requires adherence to MRH CHOICE values, effective communication, maintaining productivity, completing required education and training, reporting to work punctually, contributing to performance improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety procedures.
