Requirements

  • Current Oregon state licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS is required.
  • Knowledge of IV medications, fluids, and blood products.
  • Skill in performing venipuncture and working with a variety of vascular access devices associated with infusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills, attendance, and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Infusion and Triage experience is a strong plus!
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred. Epic experience is a plus!
  • Prior experience with authorizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing professional nursing care for clinic patients under the direction of a Physician(s) and within their scope of practice according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Performs clinical care in accordance with nursing standards within the specialty, including determining and monitoring venipuncture or catheter placement/insertion sites and administering IV medication and treatment.
  • Verifies necessary information and performs patient assessment and triage.
  • Performs prescription prior authorizations and orders prescription refills according to clinic protocols.
  • Orders and maintains medical inventory of supplies as needed. Supports the QA/QI process.
  • Provides patients, families, and caregivers with health education on infusion/IV treatment and care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
