About The Position

Intel's Foundry Automation group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Storage Engineer to architect, deploy, optimize, and manage NetApp storage platforms supporting engineering, cloud, virtualization, OpenShift, and AI infrastructure environments. The role delivers scalable NAS, object storage, and data protection solutions while supporting enterprise SAN services and storage integration across virtualized and platform-service environments. The engineer designs, implements, maintains, and scales high-performance storage platforms for Intel Foundry infrastructure. The position works with platform engineering, cloud, DevOps, virtualization, networking, and software engineering teams to provide reliable, automated, and highly available storage services. It also contributes to storage modernization, migration, and automation initiatives, operational standards, and documentation. The position requires regular onsite presence at Intel's Chandler, Arizona facility. The role is eligible for Intel's hybrid work model, which allows employees to split their time between the assigned Intel site and off-site work. It is listed as Shift 1 (United States of America). The annual US salary range is $100,550 to $194,270; individual pay depends on location and job-related skills, experience, education, and training.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise storage environments.
Hands-on experience administering NetApp ONTAP, including NAS services, data protection, and storage lifecycle management.
In-depth knowledge of NAS, SAN, SDS, and object storage technologies, including configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
Experience with NFS, SMB/CIFS, S3, Fibre Channel (FC), and iSCSI storage protocols.
Experience with NetApp SnapMirror, SnapVault, Snapshot, FlexVol, FlexGroup, and Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs).
Strong background supporting on-premises storage infrastructure in physical and virtualized environments, with familiarity in hybrid cloud integration.
Experience using automation tools such as Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and REST APIs to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve storage, performance, replication, and capacity-related issues.
Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Nice To Haves

Experience with NetApp AFF, FAS, ASA, and related platforms.
Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and NetApp Trident.
Experience with Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, or other enterprise backup solutions.
Familiarity with enterprise SAN platforms such as PowerMax or similar enterprise storage arrays; experience with Dell EMC PowerMax and Dell ECS Object Storage is also preferred.
Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting for infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
Strong background in data protection, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures.
Experience supporting AI/ML, engineering compute, or high-performance storage workloads.

Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and optimize installation, configuration, and tuning of NetApp NAS platforms, SAN, SDS, object storage, and backup solutions.
Design and implement scalable storage solutions for bare-metal, virtualized, containerized, and cloud environments.
Manage storage provisioning, replication, data protection, performance optimization, capacity management, and lifecycle activities.
Lead storage modernization, migration, and automation initiatives while maintaining operational standards and documentation.
Monitor performance and utilization, troubleshoot storage issues, and ensure high availability and data integrity.
Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, networking, cloud, and software engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable storage services.
