About The Position

The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the design, operation, and day-to-day management of the organization’s on-premises data center and co-located disaster recovery site. This role leads a small infrastructure team and ensures the reliability, availability, security, and recoverability of systems supporting approximately 700 users. The Infrastructure Manager oversees core compute, virtualization, server platforms, backup and recovery, virtual desktops, and supporting infrastructure services across both on-premises and Azure environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or data center operations.
  • Prior experience managing enterprise data center and disaster recovery environments.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with: VMware and/or Hyper‑V, Windows Server clustering, Physical and virtual server platforms.
  • Experience managing backup, recovery, and DR failover processes.
  • Experience leading or supervising technical staff.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and operational discipline.
  • US Work Authorization required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting hybrid environments (on‑premises and Azure).
  • Experience managing virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Experience using Commvault software.
  • Familiarity with SCOM, SCCM, and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Experience in regulated or audit‑driven environments.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Infrastructure, or Security).

Responsibilities

  • Manage an on‑premises corporate data center and a co‑located disaster recovery data center.
  • Ensure high availability, capacity planning, and operational stability of infrastructure platforms.
  • Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, failover, and recovery operations.
  • Maintain documented DR procedures and recovery runbooks.
  • Manage and mentor a small infrastructure team responsible for day‑to‑day operations.
  • Assign work, set priorities, and ensure timely execution of operational and project tasks.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and outages.
  • Design, build, and manage VMware, Hyper‑V, and Windows Server cluster environments.
  • Oversee provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of physical and virtual servers.
  • Manage infrastructure supporting virtual desktops.
  • Administer both Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Coordinate application deployments, upgrades, and patching for both commercial and internally developed applications.
  • Support application hosting across on‑premises infrastructure and Azure environments.
  • Partner with application owners and development teams to ensure infrastructure readiness.
  • Design, implement, and manage infrastructure backup and recovery processes using Commvault.
  • Ensure backups meet business recovery objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Regularly validate backup integrity and restoration capabilities.
  • Design and manage SCOM for infrastructure and systems monitoring.
  • Design and manage SCCM for patch management and system configuration.
  • Ensure timely patching, monitoring, alerting, and remediation of infrastructure systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure support services including: File services, Secure printing, Fax services.
  • Ensure these services are reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational standards.
