About The Position

The Infrastructure Engineering role is responsible for the firm’s core infrastructure platforms across a hybrid environment that includes on‑premises data centers, public cloud services, and SaaS solutions. This position leads a team of infrastructure engineers accountable for both day‑to‑day operational excellence and the delivery of strategic initiatives that modernize our systems. It will play a large role in shaping and evolving core technical services. In addition to operating core compute, storage, network, identity, and platform services, this role will also take part in projects such as the consolidation of our on-premises DR data center, continued expansion of M365 services, modernization of computer and file services solutions as well as lifecycle management of critical infrastructure technologies. The Infrastructure Engineering role is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all activities of the core Infrastructure platforms, and will work closely with internal teams to drive key initiatives. The role is expected to drive increased adoption of automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across technology stacks. To augment the capacity of the Infrastructure Engineering team, Arrowstreet maintains a dedicated Tier 2 Systems Administration team that reports directly to this position helping ensure smooth coordination between both teams. The right candidate is self-motivated and looks for opportunities to improve all aspects of the technical environment. This experienced Engineer will be asked to lead projects through every phase of implementation, both independently and collaboratively as needed. This role balances hands‑on technical leadership with organizational planning, serving as both an operational leader and a catalyst for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Prior hands on technical experience is a requirement for this position
  • 5+ years managing Infrastructure systems teams in a production capacity
  • 5+ years relevant experience designing, implementing and managing related Infrastructure platforms such as: Microsoft Active Directory, M365, Microsoft ADFS, VMWare vSphere/vCenter/ESX Technology stack
  • 2+ years relevant experience promoting DevOps, SRE or platform engineering practices
  • Experience working with/designing for Disaster Recovery solutions (Zerto or VMWare SRM, Microsoft AG, etc). We are presently in a multi-site/hybrid that is constantly evolving and changing
  • Ability to develop long term strategic Infrastructure enterprise goals and create a technology roadmap
  • Ability to communicate well within and across teams; foster relationships throughout the organization, and build trust amongst peers through demonstrated strong job performance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS or Azure based technology implementations as an owner/architect/builder
  • Solid understanding of multi-site design and hybrid designs. Knowledge of application flow and systems design is desirable
  • Development or automation background specific to Infrastructure as code

Responsibilities

  • Must have proven management skills with the ability to mentor staff members
  • Own the design, operation, and continuous improvement of a hybrid infrastructure environment spanning: On premises data center technologies (EMC Storage, Dell servers, VMWare ESX and VDI, Rubrik backups, server OS, etc) Cloud deployments (EKS, FSXn, S3, Opensearch, etc) SaaS solutions (Entra ID, M365 Exchange, OneLogin, etc)
  • Establish and maintain operational standards for monitoring, alerting, backup, recovery, patching, and lifecycle management
  • Lead the continuing journey toward Infrastructure as Code (IaC) that the team is already on
  • Assess, refine and prioritize team projects and responsibilities to end users leveraging Jira and Jira Service Desk (Incident Management and Tier 3 support requests)
  • Developing and Enforcing IT standards, procedures, policies, and best practices to the infrastructure team
  • Security focus to confirm that best practices are followed and remediation where necessary is applied in a timely manner
  • Participate in audits (SOC1) and client inquiries as required
  • Provide guidance to team members to foster professional growth and increase work productivity
  • Provide support to resolve escalated issues and root cause discovery of production impacting events
  • Review and enhance documentation for troubleshooting and resolution procedures for all levels of support
  • Lead assigned projects with a holistic approach, address any gaps identified and implement automation where possible
  • Occasional evening or weekend work required
