About The Position

The Infrastructure (IT) Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware, network infrastructure, servers, security systems, and communication technologies. This role helps ensure the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the company's IT systems to support daily business operations. The Infrastructure Engineer also identifies opportunities for system improvements and recommends solutions to enhance performance and reliability.

Requirements

Preferred candidates will have either a 4-year college degree in an IT-related field, or relevant work experience
Preferred candidates will have 8+ years of relevant experience in network administration, Storage Solutions, and server management
In-depth knowledge and understanding of IT Infrastructure and Security, including industry best practices
Demonstrated ability to work with and influence key stakeholders and team members
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Able to effectively manage projects and additional tasks
Strong customer service orientations
Network Management and security best practices
Hypervisor & Virtualization deployment and management (VMWare)

Responsibilities

Install, test, document, and maintain local area network systems, resolving hardware and software issues
Responsible for network stability and uptime
Monitor infrastructure usage and plan for capacity upgrades, proactively identifying areas for improvement and modernization
Manage company firewall and other technologies supporting security
Prioritize activities and manage projects to ensure timely, on-scope, and on-budget delivery
Effective interaction with multiple levels of the organization in supporting assignments – SLT leadership, front office and indirect staff, production leads/supervisors and shop floor operators
Act as the highest level of technical escalation for complex infrastructure issues. Mentor junior team members informally through knowledge sharing and guidance
Evaluates hardware and software options for compatibility, performance, and business requirements to support organizational needs
Assist with external vendor interactions
Stay updated on advancements in technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Maintain and manage communications solutions
