About The Position

Perimeter Compute is seeking an Infrastructure Deployment Manager to turn commercial building sites into operating AI infrastructure. The role owns delivery from site assessment and planning through construction, commissioning, and handover, with accountability for schedule, budget, safety, and quality across multiple concurrent projects. Initially, the manager will directly manage deployments and work with engineering consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and building teams to resolve technical and execution challenges in the field. As deployments scale, the manager will help hire and lead project managers, establish clear ownership across sites, and oversee delivery across the portfolio. Initial deployments will support NYC and another metro, with additional metros over time. At least 50% travel is required. Perimeter Compute is a seed-stage distributed edge inference company co-founded by Montauk Capital. It converts underused power in commercial buildings into GPU clusters and connects them through software as an inference network.

Requirements

  • Engineering, technical construction, or infrastructure delivery background, with the ability to evaluate electrical and mechanical scopes, read drawings, and work credibly with specialist engineers and contractors.
  • Experience delivering power-intensive infrastructure and working knowledge of building electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience delivering concurrent projects directly or through EPCs, engineering consultants, and specialist contractors, with accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and handover.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to align multiple trades and stakeholders, identify missing scope, and resolve problems quickly in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience leading project teams or external delivery partners, with capacity to hire and oversee project managers, allocate resources across sites, and establish consistent delivery standards as the portfolio expands.
  • Availability for at least 50% travel, initially supporting NYC and another metro.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with data center cooling, hydronic systems, heavy piping, or commissioning.
  • Experience with data centers, distributed infrastructure, or complex commercial building retrofits.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end deployment, translating site requirements into scopes, budgets, schedules, and milestones, and driving projects through engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Assess site readiness, including power, cooling, piping, space, installation access, constructability issues, and project dependencies.
  • Coordinate electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and compute installation work; review plans with qualified specialists, clarify interfaces, and resolve field issues involving power distribution, water-based cooling, and building infrastructure.
  • Lead consultants, contractors, suppliers, and building operators by defining scopes, responsibilities, acceptance criteria, and work sequences.
  • Control cost, schedule, and risk by tracking procurement lead times, critical-path activities, spending, and change orders; develop mitigation plans and escalate decisions with options and trade-offs.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, punch lists, and acceptance with engineering and operations teams; ensure handover documentation, as-built drawings, warranties, and maintenance requirements are complete.
  • Build a repeatable deployment function through playbooks, reporting, and project controls; incorporate lessons from deployments and, over time, hire, coach, and oversee project managers while maintaining portfolio-wide accountability.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and equity
  • Meaningful ownership in the platform
  • Montauk Capital resources, network, and operating expertise
