About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code foundations for cloud and hybrid environments. The role centers on reusable Terraform modules, hardened automation pipelines, policy-as-code, and standardized infrastructure delivery across teams and cloud providers. The engineer will apply software engineering discipline to infrastructure work and help manage production Terraform across many environments and accounts. This is a full-time, direct W-2 position with Bright Vision Technologies, working remotely within the continental United States as part of the company’s in-house, long-term SOW engagement. No third-party arrangements, C2C, or 1099 work are offered. The role does not offer new H-1B sponsorship, but qualified candidates needing an H-1B transfer may apply. A technical coding assessment is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering, with significant Terraform focus.
  • Deep hands-on expertise authoring and maintaining production Terraform for at least one major cloud provider.
  • Strong experience designing reusable Terraform modules with clean APIs and version discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform state management, backends, and large-scale workspace organization.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure code and automated policy enforcement.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security primitives.
  • Strong Git-based workflows, including code review, branching, and release management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Willingness to work as a full-time direct W-2 employee and contribute to in-house SOW deliverables.
  • Confidence in technical abilities and hands-on experience sufficient to complete a mandatory technical coding assessment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-cloud Terraform, such as AWS with Azure or GCP.
  • Familiarity with Terragrunt, Atlantis, Spacelift, or env0.
  • Experience with policy-as-code engines such as Sentinel, OPA, or Checkov.
  • Contributions to public Terraform modules or providers.
  • Exposure to FinOps practices and tagging-driven cost governance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain modular Terraform code covering infrastructure across cloud accounts and environments.
  • Build and maintain well-tested, reusable Terraform modules with clear interfaces, semantic versioning, and documentation.
  • Implement Terraform automation pipelines with plan/apply gating, drift detection, and policy enforcement.
  • Define and enforce policy-as-code to prevent insecure or non-compliant infrastructure changes.
  • Manage Terraform state at scale, including backends, state locking, workspace organization, and disaster recovery.
  • Develop multi-account, multi-region, and multi-cloud provisioning strategies with isolation, naming, and tagging standards.
  • Implement infrastructure unit, integration, and policy testing across pull requests.
  • Collaborate with security, networking, and platform teams to embed guardrails in modules and pipelines.
  • Standardize secrets management, identity federation, and least-privilege IAM using reusable Terraform abstractions.
  • Lead migrations from legacy, ClickOps, or non-IaC infrastructure into Terraform-managed environments with minimal disruption.
  • Drive cost optimization, tagging hygiene, and lifecycle management across Terraform-managed infrastructure.
  • Mentor engineering teams on Terraform practices, anti-patterns, and pull-request review standards.
  • Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and onboarding materials for the infrastructure platform.
  • Monitor developments in Terraform, OpenTofu, and the IaC ecosystem, and recommend useful adoption.
