About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code foundations for cloud and hybrid environments. The role centers on Terraform: creating reusable modules, strengthening automation pipelines, enforcing policy-as-code, and standardizing infrastructure delivery across teams and cloud providers. The successful candidate will bring software engineering discipline to infrastructure, production-scale Terraform experience, and an understanding of operating large resource estates across multiple environments and accounts. This is a full-time, direct W2 position with Bright Vision Technologies, working remotely from within the continental United States on the company’s in-house, long-term SOW engagement. The role does not involve a third-party client, vendor, or implementation partner. The position offers a stated salary range of $100,000–$150,000, plus benefits. No new H1B sponsorship is available; qualified candidates needing an H1B transfer may apply. A technical coding assessment is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering, with significant Terraform focus.
  • Deep hands-on experience authoring and maintaining production Terraform for at least one major cloud provider.
  • Strong experience designing reusable Terraform modules with clean APIs and version discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform state management, backends, and large-scale workspace organization.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure code and automated policy enforcement.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security primitives.
  • Strong Git-based workflows, including code review, branching, and release management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Must be willing to work directly as a full-time W2 employee of Bright Vision Technologies; C2C, 1099, and third-party arrangements are not accepted.
  • A technical coding assessment is mandatory.
  • No new H1B sponsorship is available; qualified candidates currently on a valid H1B visa who require a transfer are welcome to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-cloud Terraform, such as AWS with Azure or GCP.
  • Familiarity with Terragrunt, Atlantis, Spacelift, or env0.
  • Experience with policy-as-code engines such as Sentinel, OPA, or Checkov.
  • Contributions to public Terraform modules or providers.
  • Exposure to FinOps practices and tagging-driven cost governance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain modular Terraform code for infrastructure across cloud accounts and environments.
  • Build a library of tested, reusable Terraform modules with clear interfaces, semantic versioning, and documentation.
  • Implement Terraform automation pipelines with plan/apply gates, drift detection, and policy enforcement.
  • Define and enforce policy-as-code to prevent insecure or non-compliant infrastructure changes.
  • Manage Terraform state at scale, including backend strategies, locking, workspace organization, and disaster recovery.
  • Develop multi-account, multi-region, and multi-cloud provisioning strategies with isolation, naming, and tagging standards.
  • Implement infrastructure unit, integration, and policy testing in pull-request workflows.
  • Collaborate with security, networking, and platform teams to incorporate guardrails into modules and pipelines.
  • Standardize secrets management, identity federation, and least-privilege IAM through reusable Terraform abstractions.
  • Lead migrations from legacy, ClickOps, or other non-IaC infrastructure into managed Terraform with minimal disruption.
  • Drive cost optimization, tagging hygiene, and lifecycle management across Terraform-managed infrastructure.
  • Mentor engineering teams on Terraform practices, anti-patterns, and pull-request reviews.
  • Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and onboarding materials for the infrastructure platform.
  • Monitor developments in Terraform, OpenTofu, and the broader IaC ecosystem and recommend beneficial adoption.

Benefits

  • Benefits are offered; specific benefits are not listed.
