About The Position

Intel is seeking a Database and Data Loader Support Engineer to join its Level 2 support team, ensuring reliable database operations and resolving technical challenges in an automated manufacturing environment. The role provides hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support for database systems and data loader processes, helping end-users and enabling efficient data integration. The work supports critical business systems and processes. The position is part of Intel Foundry Automation's Data Analytics and Process Control team, which supports the reliability and performance of automated systems and data operations across global factory networks. The role supports a 24x7 operational environment and follows a 12-hour day-shift schedule: Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday. The position is an Intel Contract Employee with a stated duration of 36 months (3 years), and requires on-site presence in Hillsboro, Oregon, or Phoenix, Arizona. It is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

Associate of Science degree in Computer Science, Digital Systems, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
At least 1 year of experience with relational database technologies and database engineering or database administration support.
At least 1 year of experience with automated monitoring and alerting systems.
At least 5 years of experience providing operational support in a factory automation environment.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in SQL query writing and optimization.
Experience administering major database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
Understanding of database concepts such as tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures.
Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

Provide Level 2 technical support for database systems and data loader processes, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in critical production environments.
Maintain database systems and monitor data flow processes to ensure smooth data operations and integration.
Collaborate with end-users and cross-functional teams to address database performance challenges and operational bottlenecks.
Use Agile frameworks and ITIL/incident management processes to resolve problems effectively.
Support 24x7 operational environments, including availability for 12-hour day shifts on compressed work-week schedules.
Implement procedures and solutions to ensure adherence to system protocols and improve operational efficiency.
Use automated monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve technical issues.
